Langkawi: The Most Beautiful Island for Kedah


Langkawi, also known as the Jewel of Kedah, is an archipelago of 99 islands located 30 kilometers off the coast of northwestern Malaysia and a few kilometers south of Ko Tarutao, near the Thai border. Langkawi is a duty-free island, and this draws tourists from all over the world to this island. 

However. Langkawi is also famous for its gorgeous scene, it's endowed with gorgeous mountains covered in deep, green forests, clear, blue, and pure water, and year-round nice weather. There are also some destinations that are fun to explore, for example, Eagle Square (Dataran Lang), Underwater World Langkawi, Pantai Cenang, and others. So, let's explore this beautiful islands together.

1. Eagle Square 








Eagle Square, also known as Dataran Lang, is the most representative tourist sport. It is an iconic statue placed on the Kuah Jetty in the southern section of Pulau Langkawi. A 12 metre tall statue of a red-backed Eagle stands on a blue star-shaped plinth in Eagle Square. It is surrounded on one side by forested mountains and on the other by the open Andaman Sea. The Eagle of Dataran Lang spreads its wings, preparing to soar into the sky. The Eagle of Langkawi is illuminated with glittering lights at night, giving it a whole new perspective.

2. Underwater World Langkawi

 

At Underwater World Langkawi, visitors can explore and enjoy the beauty of underwater life. Explore the various areas to discover over 4,000 species of aquatic life. Enjoy the sensation of being submerged in the 15-meter-long tunnel while stingrays and sharks swim above the head. The tropical rainforest is also open to visitors. The enormous walk-through aviary will immerse visitors in the midst of the tropical rainforest ecosystem. Besides, the Rockhopper Penguins, UWL's headline attraction, await visitors in the sub-Antartic section. 

3. Pantai Cenang


Pantai Cenang beach is the most popular public beach among both tourists and residents. Because this lengthy beach with its gradual bend is the most beautiful beach in Malaysia. With palms, coconut trees, and other plants lining the beach, it provides an excellent view of the ocean and the nearby islands. Watersport activities are available at various spots around the beach.
